MANILA, PHILIPPINES [TAC] – A new conservation-focused study is tracing flying fox movement across Southeast Asia to show how roosting sites, feeding corridors, and coastal habitats are connected.

Researchers say the mapping work gives policymakers a clearer view of where habitat protection can make the biggest difference, especially in places where forest loss and urban expansion are breaking up traditional flight routes.

The study is expected to help conservation groups prioritize roost protection, improve cross-border habitat planning, and reduce conflict between wildlife protection and local land use.
