St. Luke’s Medical Center has marked a major milestone after completing more than 2,500 robotic surgeries over the past 15 years — the highest number performed by any hospital in the Philippines. On October 2, the hospital was officially certified by Device Technologies (DTG Medical Inc.) as the country’s leader in robotic-assisted procedures. St. Luke’s President and CEO Dr. Dennis Serrano, who has 15 years of experience in robotic surgery and has performed 346 of the total procedures as a console surgeon as of September 2025, said St. Luke’s is recognized not only as the first in the Philippines but also among pioneers in Asia in advancing robotic surgery.
